I worked for a before/after school program durring my undergraduate studies. I found that the children whom were diagnosed as having tourettes syndrome were extremely active and hard to control. When I observed first hand the effects of medication on these children I was for lack of a better word stunned. I was wondering though if a miricle drug with no side effects was to be discovered and administered, do you feel that an Speech Language Pathologist should work closely with the pharmacologist? If so what role should they play, an observer? Should they perform therapy? Do you belive that therapy and medicine would be more effective than either of the two individually?
