Hi Alyce, Ten years ago I didn't know where to turn, and had not yet discovered the internet (I'm not sure I even had a computer.) A friend-of-a-friend knew a speech therapist who was retired, and she was using books from the l950's or so, and didn't really understand my problem. She had me practicing words in front of a mirror until I could say them correctly, but I could always do it, since that's not a challenge for me. She didn't know what to do with me, and got very frustrated, as did I. I left after a few sessions, and didn't find anyone else until I moved to the Albany area about six years later. I was able to do some research during that time, however, and that was was helpful. But nothing beats a support group and individual therapy.
