Hi Mr. Mirly, I am a "Communication Disorders" graduate student at the College of Saint Rose, in Albany, NY. I am also the mother of a child who stutters (11 yr old girl now). I agree that therapy has changed over the years, yet I wonder if there is a "good way" to treat a child who stutters, in the school system. Do you have feelings about how your life might have been different if the therapist you had in school was different? If the teacher's were different? If kids never teased you? If you were confident and comfortable in your own body as a child who just "happened" to stutter? The high emotional components of stuttering are ever present in my daughter's life. Trying to ease her way in the school environment has been difficult. What suggestions might you offer for therapists in the school environment today? Thank you for your insightful letter and awesome, yet mind numbing, puzzles! Most Respectfully, Amy Soule
