Hi Tracy, Thanks for your comments. Therapy for me, at least when I was in my youth, was pretty unproductive. It is a good thing therapy has changed a lot in the last 30 years. I do not think that Speech Therapy is useless, but it must address the emotional aspects. Also, the therapist should focus on what is important to the client, not solely on what the therapist thinks is right. Listening to the client's needs is important, and far more effective then trying to cookie-cutter everybody with the same approach. Support groups are wonderful. It lets the participant know that they are not alone, that other people out there share so many common experiences. Support groups give the person an opportunity to speak candidly about their fears or anxieties - to a group of people who truly "get it". They get other points of views and/or advice - outside of the clinical environment. Thanks for your questions. Joe
