Hi Leah, thanks for taking the time to read my paper and give some feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I am very confident in myself - I suppose I'd say that I've always been confident even in my youth when stuttering affected my life far more than it does today. I was usually good at what I did, except for talking. I avoided many of the situations where I'd have to talk alot, and focused on what I felt I could do. What I did I did well, which helped my confidence. My family life really helped this. My parents and sibling didn't put much pressure on me concerning my speech. I was expected to do my best - and whatever outcome resulted was OK as long as I tried. They didn't let me use stuttering as a crutch, or as an excuse. It wasn't presented as an issue in our house, so it wasn't treated as such. Looking back I think this played a big part in not falling into a pattern of low self-esteem because of my stuttering. Thanks again, Joe
