Very interesting article. I had no idea such "assistive" devices had been in use for so long. However, considering that many of our modern devices often show limited effect (e.g., they wear off after time) and that such devices have been used for so long, why (do you think) are new devices so often looked on as the new fast cure rather than just another aid in the therapeutic/daily management process?
