Dear Monika, There are a number of good ways to approach stuttering in young children. If you have not yet taken your daughter for an evaluation of her speech, I encourage you to do so. Contact speech therapists in your area and interview them. Ask them how much experience they have in working with children who stutter, and what types of treatments they would consider To answer your second question, yes, I have seen cases where more than one child in a family stutters, particularly when there seems to be a predisposition for stuttering such as in your family. However, just because one child stutters, this does not mean that a second child is going to develop stuttering. Each child must be treated as an individual. You are doing a very positive thing for your daughter by informing yourself about stuttering. Thanks for visiting this conference. Best wishes, Lynne
