Your article was wonderful and it really helps us to remember why we came into this field in the first place. We have a desire to help others and at times we are often too concerned with obtainable results. We must not lose sight of what is important, which is the client and their feelings. I strongly believe in empathy based practicing and paying attention to people who do not respond to treatment. The focus needs to be placed on finding a treatment that works for them, rather than placing blame on the clinician or client. I was surprised to read that scientists in their studies will often disregard the results of people who did not respond to treatment and give them false labels to support their own study. Have you performed any experiments in the field of stuttering? I would be interested to hear about a study and your feelings about the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of the treatment that was implemented. Thank you!
