I enjoyed your article greatly, and feel that empathy is a must with all our clients. We often get focused on "fixing" things and forget the person. I was interested in your perspective on parents with children who have dysfluencies. I have had several parents recently come to me with continued concerns regarding their children, who are enrolled in speech, but very few dysfluencies have been noted during that time. What can be done for these children (approx. age 7) and parents when we clearly know their is a problem, but rarely see the dysfluency in the speech room?
