I am very interested in your approach to stuttering. I have never heard of voluntary stuttering before. This type of therapy seems to have many advantages. However, I am curious about people you have encountered that have had negative experiences the first time they attempt voluntary stuttering. Your advice is to use voluntary stuttering in various places to ease anxiety from the beginning. What advice would you give to someone who attempts this strategy and experiences listeners who make faces, laugh or even make negative comments as soon as they hear the first voluntarily stuttered word? Would this type of response hinder the stutterer's progress? How would you get the stutterer to make a second attempt after such a negative experience? Thanks for your time!
