Shelly Peter has pointed out all the benefits of using voluntary stuttering for school aged children. The same rationale can be used for even younger children. I have preschoolers use "Tigger Talk" (Walton & Wallace" Fun with FLuency). Preschoolers can playu games with parents using this easy, relaxed voluntary stuttering. Their parents can join in ( desensitizing to parents, as well as the young children). Kids have fun stuttering, which can be beautifully desensitizing for those young children who are already reacting negatively to their stuttering. Lee Caggiano
