Alan, I like how you write that when a person voluntary stutters with eye contact he or she does so “with dignity.” And yes, voluntary stuttering with eye contact really does tend to put the listener at ease. By maintaining eye contact, your listener is better able to accept how you talk. And your sense of humor is wonderful - I may borrow that joke sometime!
