Peter --- I hope it's okay if I ask another question. After reading your paper a couple of days ago, I have been using voluntary stuttering. As someone else pointed out, it truly is liberating. I think this is the first time in years, I've felt like I'm really being me. However, today, I had two speaking experiences during which I chickened out and reverted back to my old ways of avoidance and hiding. One was in a public place where strangers could overhear what I was saying, and the other was during a long telephone conversation. I was horrified with myself for not stuttering openly. Do you have any suggestions on how to deal with these set backs? Do I just shrug them off and try again, or does this mean I'm not doing it properly? Again, I hope it's okay to ask this. Thank you for all of your help. Sophie
