Hi Diane, Thank you for sharing your story with us. Having communicated with you during the past few years, I already knew a great deal about the circumstances surrounding your stuttering. However, your paper has helped to fill in the gaps. It is quite understandable that you became apprehensive about maintaining your self-sufficiency when Ron became unemployed. Debt (or the fear of debt) can have a devastating effect. Someone who was once very close to our family became embroiled in severe financial problems (albeit that they were self-induced). It was traumatic to witness the immense changes that occurred to that person’s personality, lifestyle and values. There were frequent mood swings and irrational behaviour. I know that this scenario does not apply to you – I merely mentioned it to indicate that I understand the predicament in which you found yourself. But, you have two huge advantages – your faith and the support of your caring husband. Diane, both you and I are so fortunate to have the unconditional love and support of our spouses. Others would give their right arm to be in that position. Hang on in there! You are a very special person who possesses a wonderful sense of humour, despite your experiences. Having followed your online postings, and spoken to you at length, I have always been so impressed with your strength of character and empathy for others. I am convinced that your fairy tale will have a happy ending. Cinderella, you WILL eventually go to the ball ;-) Take care, I'll ring you soon. Alan PS Now I know what you look like ;-)
