Hello, my name is Josie Kilde and I am a graduate student, majoring in Communication Disorders (Speech-Language Pathology) at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. I was very interested in your story as I was reading it this afternoon. I have never heard a story quite like yours! I am amazed at how much you are dealing with right now, with your husband getting a new job, and your children all being teenagers. I bet you feel totally overwhelmed. I feel like that often myself. I'm sure it is not easy for you to all of a sudden begin to stutter. It sounds like the SLP at your mom's school was able to help you out (at least in certain situations). Are you still going to therapy? Now that you have found a depression medication that works for you, do you find that your fluency has improved? I wonder if there is any link between depression and fluency. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. Your strength of character truly inspires me.
