Rosalee, What type of method/s would you employ for a child who demonstrates low ss rate, demonstrates stutters that are produced without any evidence of tension or struggle, comprised of fleeting word breaks (becau ause; ga ame)and whose loci is oftentimes imbeddded within an extremely long fluent utterance/s. would you immediately interrupt him at that moment to administer a contingency? we have tried to use a gesture to indicate a stutter event so we would not interrupt his message and yet still provide the necessary feedback, howver, he feels that the listener is not attending to his message when this is done. He had no such reaction during stx conversation, however. I was thinking of some type of reinforcement chart that would indicate his lower sr's. what do you think? My other question relates to the use of Lidcombe with word final disluencies in an older children. Has anyone used Lidcombe with these types of disfluencies. thanks. Irv
