It is difficult for me to answer your question fully since I am not sure what age child you are talking about. A general response would be if the loci of the stuttering is imbedding in a very long utterance then you have to help the child to be able to change something about the utterance to increase stutter free speech. I would probably interupt to take shorter turns and change the nature of the interaction to a dialogue. In this way I would be able to convey the message to the child that I am listening. Depending on the age of the child a reward chart could work for a short time. I have had no experience with older chidren with word final disfluencies but have had feedback from others who have used verbal feedback with success.
