Dr. Silverman, I enjoyed your article, although the "Shenpa" technique seems far too complicated for the students I serve in a school system. What I noticed was a common thread in your article and others I have read in this conferences, including 1. a need to accept ones own stuttering 2. an ability to relax and focus on the message being conveyed 3. not concerning yourself with "what others think" of your fluency or lack of fluency. 4. a personal journey - therapy being a small peice of the puzzle for many.
