Dear MaeLeah, Each interview was different and very open-ended. Therefore, there was no consistent series of topics covered. In this way, asking someone to tell his or her story is different from a case history interview where the clinician *a priori* decides what areas must be covered. One suggested prompt we used when necessary did relate to any positives about stuttering. For those who were asked and then answered, I recall that the most common perceived positive aspect of stuttering was that it made the person more sensitive and empathetic. But one woman who had a case of neurogenic stuttering after brain surgery ansered the question, "Is there anything positive about your stuttering?" with a terse, "Hell no!" Thanks for the question. Ken
