Thanks Diane, but keep in mind I had a couple of months to put together the essay. It all began one summer day when Judy e-mailed me and said, “I’m organizing a conference and need something with the phrase ‘nose picker’ in it.” I said, “I’m your guy!” and took it from there. (This will give us a chance to see just how closely Judy monitors these discussions.)
