You’re right Marija, I should have thought of that—people who react to stuttering even when they don’t actually hear stuttering. This came up at a support group meeting one time. One story that made it into the book was of a bully who mimicked “stuttering” he apparently hoped to hear but really did not (apparently, he wasn’t Rhodes Scholar material). How about this: Those who react to stuttering even when it doesn’t exist would be subjected to a 48-hour rave party protected only by my imaginary friend Philippe. (Yes, I read ahead & got the idea from Anita.) On a different note, how much attention does Ivo Karlovic’s stuttering get in Croatia? Dale
