That’s a good insight Darlene. For one section of my book, I did a lot of research on humor (yes, there is academic literature on the subject; what a great field of study that would be). Anyway, I found it interesting how people use humor to gain perspective, new insights, empowerment, and even novel ways of managing difficulties, among other benefits. As you noted, sometimes you get lucky and people see that they’ve been acting pretty stupid. Other times, unfortunately, people really ARE stupid and wouldn’t see the light if you clubbed them over their heads with it. Thanks for the comments. Dale
