Barbara, Thank you for sharing your story. I am an SLP who works with children who stutter. I pretty much accept anything they say, trying not to judge, but just offer them alternatives. Sometimes they will talk about changing words or choosing not to talk. I don't tell them this is wrong. I just say, ok, here's some other things you could try. What do you think I should say to kids, and teens) about covert-type behaviors? Thanks,Judy :)
