It seems to me that a large portion of the problem, when it comes to PWS being criticized, is simply a lack of education. Unfortutately, and it seems we see this everyday in relation to endless things, that we as people deal with things that we don't understand or things that make us uncomfortable by making someone else feel more uncomfortable than we do; it is only then that the focus is taken off of us and pushed onto someone else. I think it is clear to see that this is a habit shared by human kind in general regardless of our origins. I think that it is so important to educate people on stuttering and I am very glad to see it happening here. Hopefully, as I am sure was the original intention, this movement towards education on stuttering will not only lessen the negative connotations of stuttering, but will also help to draw an interest in speech therapy in Nigeria (from both a patient and a clinician's stand.) It seems to me that only then will there be a movement towards modern technology and modern speech therapy. We can only hope it comes soon. Excellent article, thank you.
