Hi Russ, Thank you for your kind words. I enjoyed writing the paper - it made me think about the impact that the Edinburgh masker has had upon my life. Our mutual friend, the late Marty Jezer (a fellow Masker user), also felt very strongly that such prosthetic devices could play an important role in the lives of PWS. Text messaging? - I've heard that it often provides problems for persons in the upper age groups but, as I'm many years your junior, I've managed to acquire proficiency in that method of communication ;-) Having said that, I much prefer chatting in person. With regard to Internet chatgroups, I have not been involved with Stutteringchat for nearly two years. However, I am aware that Yahoo has terminated the use of such facilities (allegedly due to fears of improper use by undesirable elements). It's a sad world in which we live! Skype (which can be downloaded, without charge, from http://www.skype.com is a useful means of communication. It's very similar to using a telephone - you hear a ringing sound on your pc when someone calls, and all parties can speak at the same time. There is also a facility for conference calls and text messaging. I frequently voice chat with PWS (via Skype) from all over the world. It was great to see you in Long Beach in July. You never seem to age - what's your secret? ;-) Kindest regards Alan
