Hi Keith, Thank you for taking the time to comment upon my paper. What made me change? That's a question that quite a few have been asking. Rather than repeat myself, may I kindly refer to the response that I earlier sent to Walt Manning. You also asked "Does your wife have to tell you to pipe down so she can get a word in once in a while?". No! - she is delighted for me. In fact, it was she who encouraged me to make one last effort to deal with my stuttering. I had resigned myself to the fact that it would always be a problem. She loved me, unconditionally, as I was but she knew that (because of my speech difficulties) there were occasions when I had to accept second best. So, she is more than happy with the changes that have occurred during the past six years. However, I needed to explain that I wished to assume full responsibility for all my speaking, otherwise she may have felt a little redundant. In the past, she had readily assisted whenever she felt I needed help. We have a wonderful relationship and discuss everything. You also enquired, "Does your international support group network need more helpers?" The network extends worldwide and is used by thousands of PWS. However, I regret that it is restricted to members of a particular programme. You concluded, "Keep up the positive messages to PWS everywhere". Thank you, Keith - that is my intention, although I intend to further reduce my involvement with Internet groups at the end of this year. Now that stuttering is no longer an issue for me, I wish to focus on so many other things that have come into my life. I need to prioritise in order to make best use of the time available. As I have previously opined, there are not sufficient hours in a day. Leaving Stutteringchat was, indeed, a blessing as it took up so much of my time. Keith, it has been a pleasure meeting you during recent months. Your work within the stuttering community must give you a huge amount of satisfaction. May you continue to enjoy good health in order to fulfil your desires and additional responsibilities. Kindest regards Alan
