Hello Alan, I've been looking for your response and it was worth waiting for! I'm especially interested in your comments for much of our current efforts are focused on trying to understand how people are able to do what you did (with or without formal treatment). Your comments were wonderfully insightful and speak to the imortance of going AT the issue or problem or however one might concieve of it) rather than going the other way. We're searching for principles of change that are common across different therapies and although research has defined many of these in other areas, we are trying to do this more specifically in the area of stuttering. Would you consider giving permission for me to quote some of your comments in the 3rd edition of my text (Clinical Decision Makinig . . . ) that I've just begun revising?
