Alan— I have the opportunity to write to you again and to again compliment you on your approach this time to writing about technology. It is not placating or offensive, and may even ease some peoples’ angst or anger or whatever myriad feelings we have about technology in general or about stuttering. I’ll not forget the poem you read over the phone when I had a parent and child in the office! Wish I had thought to tape it. Your voice was warm, your speech fluent, and your words meaningful. I’ve seen some using technology who have quickly gained confidence in speaking (and thereby in themselves too) while others make slow progress. At times, it is when “it” is lost that, unfortunately for some, they realize the gains…time lost that could have been used to move further and more independently. There is so much more to discuss, as always, hopefully sooner rather than later!
