I am first year Speech Pathology graduate student and am currently taking a class in stuttering. Your paper was incredibly interesting, and provided me with a lot of information pertaining to stuttering and the treatment of stuttering. It is obvious that technology plays a huge role in the world today, and it only makes sense that technology plays an important role in the lives of PWS also. I understand that your choice to stop using the Masker was a personal decision, and varies from person to person, but in general do you feel that assistive technology devices, such as DAF’s, FAF’s, and the Edinburgh Masker (when it was still being manufactured) are comparable to speech therapy when looking at being an effective technique to treating stuttering?
