Hi Karyn, Thank you for reading my paper and contributing to this discussion. Do I fear that technology will become a crutch for PWS today and in the future? Let me answer that in two parts. Firstly, I believe that assistive technology can improve (and is improving) the lives of some people who stutter. I feel that the value of such devices can be enhanced by encouraging the wearer to venture into challenging situations, so that they may (if they so wish) overcome their fears of speaking in those environments. Secondly, I feel that many people, not just PWS, use technology as a crutch, or to simply facilitate communication. In many cases, it is a part of everyday life. However, I feel that it is important that PWS should be given a clear understanding of the implications of avoidance, so that (if they choose) they may take stock of the manner in which they use that technology. They must make theirm own decisions in life. I wish you every success with your studies. Kindest regards Alan
