Mr. Bates, congratulations on a well written article. I am currently an undergrad SLP student and am interested in focusing on fluency. I am curious about the self image of persons who stutter and was wondering if you could give some insight on this topic. As a child, or previous to your discovery of Tim Gallwey's books, did stuttering negatively impact your self image? If so, was this overall or was the negativity focused solely on the stuttering?
