You asked: <<In terms of your speech, how did it feel the first time you told yourself that speech is easy?>> I think the first time I tried it out in a situation that I would otherwise have found stressful was during table topics (impromptu speaking) at a Toastmasters meeting. It felt great to be actually thinking on my feet and structuring a response that involved speaking for about a minute in answer to a question that I had just been given. It wouldn’t have been a great response, but at least I managed to string a few sentences together with reasonable fluency on a topic I knew little about. Prior to this, unless I had good knowledge of the topic, I would have struggled to find more than a few words to say. And all the time I was speaking I would have been worrying that I might have difficulty saying some word or other. Regards, Winton.
