Thanks for posting, and I wish your friend luck with her job change. One of the hardest things for anyone to do is change jobs mid-career. We often get stuck in a rut because we are comfortable or are too scared to make a change. It’s a very frightening experience to go outside our comfort zone and go into the unknown. I had the hardest time getting out of my last job. I liked the company and the people, but I needed something better. It took me a while to make the change, but I’m much happier now and I’m very glad I did it. There have been studies that show that people with disabilities have lower turnover rates and tend to stay on the job longer. This can be a good selling point when trying to convince employers that people with disabilities make good employees, but in actuality, it is an indicator that they have a harder time leaving a job or moving up, possibly because of their disability. I afraid I don’t know Dr. Susca or his email address. You might want to send him the link to the page with your reply and let him know that you posted.
