Hi Sara. Thanks for your question. AKS!!! The answer will be so different from person to person. You might like to find out, not only what therapy would work for this person, but also about the impact stuttering is making on this person's life. A slight stutter can be a much bigger problem for this very person than a huge stutter to others who don't even bother as there are no barriers been set up for this person. Not by him/herself, not by others. Stuttering is so much more than speech alone, so you have to get under the skin of the person. Let the client be the expert-witness with you being the judge. Hear him/her out. Try to get a picture of the client's life, goals and dreams, friends and family. Speech therapy might work great and one laugh or comment can break it all down. So, listen and ask. You are the therapy expert, but your client is the expert on his/her stuttering. And this client is not "the stutterer". Go to self help groups and/or join a forum. As they are not your clients, you might find it easier to ask and get more objective answers. Learn more about different kinds of therapy to have a "smorgasbord" for your client to BOTH pick from. If you go hand in hand you might make the puzzle complete. Good luck!!! Anita
