Hi Lindsay In many people's eyes "disabled" means "less capable", "to feel sorry for", "less worthy". This has been (and still is) many people's views on people with disabilities. We ourselves have to start to give the word "disability" a different meaning. Because we ARE capable of doing whatever we want. It just takes a bit longer time or might be a bit harder to do. And this goes for the deaf, the blind, people with autism, one leg, you name it. As long as the world doesn't get it, WE have a lot of work to do and stop sitting and complaining around the kitchen table and instead start talking!!! If we change the meaning of the word "disability" than we don't have to be ashamed of the word anymore. We have a malfunction somewhere in our body and it's the world around us( sometimes even ourselves) that makes us disabled. So why being ashamed of something other people put in our way? So let's all make one stuttering voice, starting on the ISAD and get out there! :-) Keep talking Anita
