Hi Michael Thanks for your kind words. You wrote: "The same person in one conversation can tell me how his stuttering is a major disabilty, but then say later it is also a gift and as asset." I personally wouldn't say stuttering is a gift, but I can see the point and yes, it can be both. See, being blind is definetly something I hope to to suffer from, but in the same time they learn to develop other skills and many of them are amazingly good at remembering, hearing things we don't even know they sound etc. My stutter is NOT a friend of mine. As a German person wrote: I want to get rid of my stutter, but noone wants to have it. But I did develop some other skills, such as being a good listener (even my bullies came to me for advice!), a poet, a perfect teacher for the elderly, as I speak slowly and have a lot of patience etc. So to me it's not an asset, strength or gift. It's an enemy, but as long as we're sharing the same body and mind I might as well make the best of it. By trying to get to know all about my enemy and telling people about this enemy so that all are aware of it's nastyness and by not giving it a chance to get under my skin (anymore), which has proven to be very helpful to gain more fluency. Hope that makes some sense... Anita
