You're so right, Ilana. We have to change the meaning of the word "disabled". From being "not capable" to "fully capable, just needing a little more time, help and effort". As you wrote, we all are disabiled on some way. Some people take ages to find a telephone number in a book, others have a problem driving in the dark. This is so normal to most of us, but still causing problems to these people (and others). It's all in the word... Anita The word "disability" is very vague, and is truly representative of a large spectrum of physical, emotional, cognitive, psychological, or linguistic, etc. "weaknesses". Most if not all people are "disabled" in some area or another. With this in mind, people mustn't be scared to "check off the disabled box" in order to get the assistance they need.
