This article was an eye opener for me. I suppose I looked at stuttering as a disability and thought others automatically did also. I knew that it was a handicap for some (stopped them from speaking in certain situations, avoided certain words), but I guess the way you phrased it, really makes one think about the complete picture. Like you stated, it may not be a disability to some, but to some it is. I thought that in some situations, stuttering assistive devices were covered by insurance. My question is, how much do these devices cost and how often are companies/providers willing to assist individuals in obtaining such devises?
