Hi Anita, I’m a Communication Disorders graduate student and your entry really got me thinking. You make some really good points, especially when you talk about focusing on the person, and not so much on the fact that they stutter. There are some things that can’t be taught by a book. I agree with you that a change in perspective is important. People seem to be afraid of the unfamiliar, and being educated about stuttering may help people to understand more about people who stutter. Who better to educate others about stuttering, than a person who stutters themselves.?
