Hi Anita: Our Professor in Fluency is a PWS. Our first assignment was to go out with a classmate and practice stuttering in six seperate instances. I am not at all shy, however I was extremely uncomfortable and the reactions I received were not all friendly and can be crushing to ones self esteem.I believe it is a disabilty based on general public perception of those who stutter. People looked at me as if I were stupid/incompetent or not a whole person. I grew up with a blind dad and was used to people staring at me when I walked with him. I thought I had thick skin, but I was actually angered by some of those I encounterd while out stuttering in public as our professor terms the assignment. I know have a lot of empathy for PWS and am greatful for the experience. Thanks, Erik
