In your paper you mention that in some countries stuttering is considered a disability and not in others. What do you think causes some societies to attach a negative stigma to stuttering, but not others? You mention that in some places stutterers are banned from their villages. I just wonder what factors in a society could cause its members to view stuttering as a disability and why it would not be considered one in another.
