Hi Alan Yes, this issue has been an issue for many for so many years and will be as long as we don't take charge of this problem. The fact that many European countries have ackowledged stuttering being a disability implies that we are rightfully protected by the law in case of discrimination, getting economical help to our support groups etc. What we think individually is a question to every single one of us to decide for ourselves. By reading my replies to other people you will find that I feel being disabled is not a state of a person, but a state of their surroundings. Being in a wheel chair is not a problem of everything is accessible. Being deaf is not a problem if all people knew sign language. If we manage to change the meaning of the word disabled, than we might find it ok to use it. Or even better: in a perfect world none of us is disabled, no matter what disorders we have! Keep talking!
