The mother should find out why the child is so unhappy. Is it therapy, is it something in school, or even something at home? If it's the therapy/therapist, try to find another one or ask the therapists to try another approach. If it's school, do keep seeing the therapist. Maybe she (mostly a she :-( )can go to school and talk to the teachers and the class (but only if the child wants to!!!) If it's something at home, try to find out what it is. Many times it's not one thing, but a combination of things, so it's not an easy task, but you should try and find out what the true problem is and try to find a way around it. There are a lot of tips for family and friends to help, such as slow down your own speech, create a safe speaking invironment, where parents and sibblings learn to wait and inform all people around the child. Do try and find a leaflet or browse website about stuttering. Good luck!!! Anita
