hi I think that a lot of recent research, particularly that of Dr. Drayna at the National Institutes of Health in the US, will give us a deeper understanding of the mechanisms involved in the development and maintenance of stuttering. I think this is a hopeful time for stuttering research, in that a lot of good work is going on to help to understand stuttering, and to help those who stutter. Shelley
