Hi Lauren, You can check my response to Stacey because she asked the same question. The kind of self-charting I was referring to in the article was utilized with school-age children. I have utilized self-charting with adults as well. They may keep a tally sheet or we may discuss verbally after a time period their observations of whatever they are working on. I do think as a general strategy self-double charting can be used for any speech-language issue we are addressing, especially when working with children in groups!
