As a graduate student, currently taking my first fluency course, I have heard that individuals who stutter often do not do so when playing a role, but I do not actually have a lot of knowledge about this topic. Why is it that an individual who stutters does not do so when playing a role? Also, why then, would individuals not view their lives as "roles" as a method to decrease disfluencies?
