Hello Lindsay - yes, that is about the sole reason, I must admit. I have never hidden how much stuttering has affected me as a person, and molded my personality. When I was in practice in a kindergarden during my studies, the thing that intimidated me was the PARENTS. I saw how my mentor (another kindergarden teacher) spoke to parents, how outright and confident they need to be. So I think I wouldn't be able to communicate well with the parents and be taken seriously while stuttering. I can almost hear them say "I don't want that kind of a person raising my child". Because sometimes children would start imitating me, which I found also intimidating. /// I had also found out while on practice that children need a strong, assured adult as a role-model.
