Hi Connie I just read your paper and I love your idea of the teasing inventory. I think this could be use by all teachers in all class rooms. This brings to mind of the shooting that have happen in schools this past week. One right here in Wis. It seems that the shooter said "NOt enough was being done to stop the teasing" I am not saying it's the right thing to do but just think if every teacher would do that inventory. How many more students could we as adults reach? This also brings to mind a story I was told last week. A little boy had to switch schools due to a divorce. He was afraid but went bravey to the new school. After two weeks of school he told his dad. "Daddy I don't miss my old school any more. I don't get teased any more" He went on to say he misses his friends but not the school. This little boy didn't blame the other kids he blame the school. His behavior at school also change. Now the teacher calls home to tell dad how much of a help he is! This little boy does not stutter but can not say a lot of the sounds. By the way the little boy is 6 and is my grandson. Boy is he cute to!!! :-)
