Meachem.....YOU SAY....The type of therapy he receives now defeats his spirit. If you were the parent of a son who stutters, would you allow yourself - or a son - to continue in this type of therapy? We have reviewed "The Professor is In" section of this ISAD, and have found the professionals largely endorse fluency shaping and stuttering modification therapies as most effective with children. They also say positive remarks about "Lidcome Therapy" (?) How can the mind set be changed? What can we do? It is an emotional issue for all of us. Thank you in advance for any suggestions you may have. ....I SAY..... I have heard some good things about Lidcome, though I know little about it. However, you question is best address to Tim Mackesey who also has a paper on this forum. I have a high regard for Tim's abilities and his perspective on stuttering. He extzremely knowledgeable in neurolinguistic programming and neurosemantics which provide brilliant tools for mind management. And he's a lot of success in working with children. You can also contact him off line at fluency@bellsouth.net. Regards, John
