Hi Lou, ..... Just read your very interesting paper. Yes indeed, I remember that opening post to Stutt-L very well. Quite a few people responded to him and in a subsequent post to the list a few days later he said, "I surely am obsessed with and taken over by stuttering, as if stuttering owns me." And in another post he said, "I am still not very good at keeping the eye-contact..." and "Networking is the part I always lagged, as stuttering made me more and more introvert." and "I have to admit, I tend to appear GUILTY each time I address the stuttering in the interview..." Ah yes, this guy definitely has a major identification problem. He appeared to appreciate the advice we gave him, but I wonder how he is doing now. He's posted quite a few more times on Stutt-L and several of his recent posts have seemed more positive. Thank heavens he never met Ed Feuer! ..... If you're looking for some interesting reading, check out the ISAD paper "Mind Matters" by Ellen-Marie Silverman. She's also on Stutt-L. That paper is especially applicable here as it tends to explain how stutterers (or anyone else for that matter) can define his or her own world according to what he believes. ..... Good paper - as always - Lou! And a good picture of you too! <smile> ..... Russ
